(1796-1862). Pennington, a New Jersey Governor, served as Speaker of the House from 1859 to 1861, but lost in his bid for re-election. <P> DS. 1pp. 12 " x 8" . Fifth of February, 1841. New Jersey. A document signed <I>" <B>Wm Pennington</B>" </I> as New Jersey Governor. He appointed <I>" Robert C. Stephens to be one of the Commissioners for taking the Acknowledgement and Proof of Deeds, for the county of Morris" " </I>. The document has a large and attractive state seal and a dark signature. The usual folds affect little.
