Book Description
AL. 2pg. 8 " x 11" . June 12, 1883. Boston. An autograph rebus letter to his family on " R.W. Kendall & Company" letterhead. The author wrote " Dear [family] You will perceive the [I] am not quite as [hard working] as formerly and as there is no especial business intelligence I address this jointly. Today is very [windy], and much cooler. Last night, it grew cool quite suddenly, when I retired, [bed] was quite sufficient but toward morning [a blanket] became necessary. I found our [shirt] that I made" by means of a [cigarette], and [pants] also. Yesterday evening, I [played tennis] and [ripped] that pair. Really this necessity of internal adornment is very" [A picture of a woman] is well, and gave me two apple turnovers for lunch. We shall be glad to [visit]. All the sample cards ordered will be finished today. [Card] samples have been sent to 40 Green St. It would be a grand day to [go horse riding] but my [horse shoes] are low. Well there is nothing more to write, so write me. I remain [a self-portrait]." . The letter has three folds and a short fold separation that affects little.
