While my primary purpose in writing is to express to you my pleasure at your recent victory, I also want to let you know that I will be a candidate for re-election as Chairman of the Democratic Caucus, when we meet to organize the new Congress. I look forward to seeing you at the December 4 meeting of the Caucus and hope that I can count on your support.” The letter is in fine condition.
