Octavo (5-3/4" x 8") bound in full contemporary black morocco stamped in blind and gilt with "Autographs. Class of 1851." in gilt on the front cover and the student's name "E. Hungerford" stamped in gilt on the rear. Several current faculty are depicted with engraved portraits as well as several deceased Yale faculty and a few engraved views of the campus. The book is SIGNED, often with added sentiments, by over 100 faculty and students including Yale President Theodore Woolsey, Jeremiah Day, Benjamin Silliman, Eleazor Fitch, Jonathan Knight, Nathaniel Taylor, James Kingsley, Denison Olmsted, Thomas Thacher, Noah Porter, Theodore Munger, Roger Welles, and a host of others. Tipped-in at the rear is a four-page pamphlet: SONGS AND CHORUSES FOR PRESENTATION DAY, JUNE 18, 1851, which has the bottom quarter cut off and lacking
