Original red morocco-backed decorated paper-covered boards, top edge gilt, slipcase, blue paper title label on upper cover of slipcase. A beautifully-produced work: a limited edition of 673 copies signed by the author, this number 91 of 585 copies on Worthy Aurelian paper. A fine copy of this important bibliography of early American children's books: 816 books described in detail, with notes about their place in the firmament of American juvenile literature.
