Book Description

New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1945. First Edition. Hardcover. Light/moderate shelf wear, bottom corners through, wear to head and heel, light glue toning at endpages, else tight, bright and unmarred. DJ shows moderate to heavy shelf/edge wear, several small to moderate chips at edges, several small to moderate closed tears, spine completely failed, light, even toning, three small water spots, else clean. Yellow paper pictorial boards. np (approx. 28pp.). Illus. (b/w plates). The author spent six weeks in the sick bay with double pneumonia at the Norfolk Naval Training Station during World War II. This book is a collection of the cartoons he created during that time. Jacket in marginal shape, but damage mostly focused at edges and spine, front, back and flaps are quite presentable and all now in Brodart. Overall, a nice copy of this increasingly scarce volume.
