Also laid in is a Typed Note Signed by Kaminsky: “...St. Martin’s just sent me the attached. I have three novels coming out in 1983: HE DONE HER WRONG, a Toby Peters tale for St. Martin’s; WHEN THE DARK MAN CALLS for St. Martin’s; and BLACK KNIGHT ON RED SQUARE for Charter. Stuart. I hope to get to New York at the end of the year.” About fine in a custom cloth clamshell box. The First Edition copy, signed by Stuart Kaminsky on the endpaper and dated “6/13/81”, was published by St. Martin’s Press in 1981. Fine in a fine dust jacket. Hired by Gary Cooper, PI Toby Peters is investigating blackmail, and ends up with murder. Ernest Hemingway makes an appearance to help out, but winds up in as much trouble as a man on the wrong end of a rhino.
