A German born American conductor and composer, Damrosch studied with his father. After coming to New York, the son was involved with the New York Symphony Society, the New York Oratorio Society, and the Metropolitan Opera Company. DS. 1pg. 8 ½" x 14". September 14, 1876. Kauai. A partly printed document signed "James Mundon" and co-signed "P. Puhula" as tax assessor. The document shows what Mundon owned in 1876 while living in Kolon on Kauai. His buildings were worth $500, his five head of cattle $25, his furniture was $50, and he answers that he is both literate and a Hawaiian subject.
