This was mailed to the client to show how his or her money was being utilized. I do not know if these were real trades or fictitious ones. (1867-1955). Considered the father of American Gothic architecture, he was born and raised in Northern Ireland. In Boston, he apprenticed to architect Edmund Wheelwright. A broadside of "Lincoln, The Man of the People" boldly signed "Edwin Markham 1933" at the bottom. At the top, Markham penned: "To President Robert G. Sprout, in memory of a happy afternoon". There are four stanzas of the poem printed. The extreme upper left corner has been trimmed, but I suspect it came this way, for Markham wrote around it.
