It shows a staged shot from the 1939 movie Rio, and it shows Rathbone in the middle, wearing a pith helmet; there is film information on the lower margin. A White House luncheon menu dated March 27, 1981, just three days before President Reagan was shot by John Hinckley. The food included lobster bisque, beef tenderloin and chocolate mousse. It is in fine condition, and comes from the papers of James Brady, who was severely wounded in the assassination attempt.... more information

DS. 2pg. 8” x 5”. January 8, 1855. Ilion [New York]. A promissory note signed “E. Remington” twice, once on the front and once on the back. He promised “Thirty days from date the Ilion Bank promise to pay to the order of E Remington J Ingersoll LL Merry & JH Rasback five thousand dollars at the Herkimer County Bank for Value Recd. with use.” The document is in fair condition overall, with professionally repaired tears, overall soiling and staining to the right margin. ADS. 1pg. 5 ¼” x 3 ¾”. June 1, 1887. No place. A partly printed autograph document signed “M.A. Reno” at the conclusion. The signed pension report concerns supplies, and mentions Waterloo, Indiana. The left portion of the document has been removed, affecting a number of words. There is also a vertical tear on the right side that has been professionally repaired. Reno is a scarce signature.... more information

An archive of six tax documents from Colonel William C. Church and his wife Mary; Church was the Editor of the Army and Navy Journal. The fascinating documents are: a) DS. 1pg. 8” x 10”. October 29, 1866. New York. An United States Internal Revenue document for 1866. It shows that Church’s income was $4,975, of which the first $4,400 was taxes at five percent and the remaining $575 was taxed at ten percent. Richardson” written from his first London residence, 12 Hinde Street: “I have been in…for some days past but am back to work now. If it will do I can have first article for good wards ready for you on this day week. Please do let me know. The school book is jolly and capitally. A versatile entertainer, Bill "Bojangles" Robinson was a pre-eminent tap dancer and starred in numerous films. PS. 8" x 10". No date. No place. A black and white studio close-up photograph inscribed "To E.B. Holloway Wishing you the best of everything. Your pal Bo". He signed along the brim of his fedora and the writing is in dark blue ink. It shows the formally dressed Rockefeller at his desk, signing some documents. The signature is on a piece of paper attached to the photo’s verso and extends downwards; there is very light wrinkling and soiling to the paper. A typed letter signed “As ever FDR” to his longtime friend and law partner, Basil O’Connor: “Your kind birthday message send through Miss LeHand made me very happy indeed. Ever so many thanks for your thought of me.” Roosevelt crossed out the conclusion, wrote “As ever” and then signed the letter. PS. 7 ½” x 9 ¾”. No date. No place. A sepia-toned studio photograph inscribed “For Miss Kate Friend from Franklin D. Roosevelt” on the blank lower margin. Friend was a Waco, Texas area Shakespeare scholar, writer and teacher. The image was taken by Ortho of New York. There are some minor surface defects towards the bottom, including lightness with the word “from”. It is matted in brown and framed to an overall size of 15” x 13”.
