The son of a New Hampshire Governor, Badger fought in the Civil War. After that war, he was commissioned a lieutenant, assigned to the 6th Regiment of U.S. Infantry. He wrote at the top “The United States To John Palmer Dr. For Principal & Interest of Sundry Specie Certificates assigned to him”. It then lists the people to whom specie was owed, when it was issued, the interest due, and the total amount. There are eighteen people listed, and it is signed “John Palmer” at the conclusion. A French aeronaut, Tissandier made many ascensions beginning in 1868. In 1883 Gaston Tissandier invented an electric motor capable of delivering 1.5 horsepower to move his balloon, the forerunner of the dirigible. Document. 4" x 5 ½". No date (circa 1880). No place. An unused bookplate or flight ticket for "Messierus Albert Et Gaston Tissandier". It has an attractive design of a balloon powered by a propeller. Low was a New York merchant and legislator. He favored independence and after the war, was elected director of the Bank of New York and the Bank of the United States. Huntington wrote to the state treasurer John Lawrence: “Please to pay or discount with Mr. Ephraim Baker Thirty Shillings...out of the taxes appropriated for payment of the Civil list, & charge the same on account of what is due from the state to your humble servant.” On the verso, Huntington docketed the document and signed it again.... more information

PS. 10” x 9”. No date [probably 1950s]. No place. A black and white photograph signed “Dwight D Eisenhower” and by the two Colorado Senators, “Edwin C. Johnson” and “Eugene Milliken”. It shows three men presenting President Eisenhower with a certificate inviting the Eisenhowers to the 1954 Central City Festival. The Eisenhower signature has some short skipping but the image is in fine condition with small mounting remnants on the back.... more information
