Re: Notice of CENSURE of Joan Hill of the Literary Lion

The Board of Governors of the ABAA, pursuant to the Association’s By-Law Article 5, section I (2), hereby CENSURE Ms. Joan Hill for violations of the Association’s Code of Ethics.

After a hearing and upon evaluating and considering the evidence concerning Ms. Hill's pattern of behavior of slow payment and failure to respond to efforts from members of the trade and the ABAA's Ethics Committee to communicate with her, the Board determined she violated the Association’s Code of Ethics.

In particular Ms. Hill was found to have violated Section 1 of the Code by failing to "exercise common sense and courtesy in dealing with each other and the general public" and Section 6: "an Association member should pay in full for all materials purchased within 30 days from the date of the invoice unless other arrangements are made."

Further, the Board and the Ethics Committee expressed their full expectation that the conduct that resulted in this CENSURE of Ms. Hill will not be repeated by her in the future.
