Report of the Finance Committee -- Knights of the Ku Klux Klan
first editionOriginal wraps
Knights of the Ku Klux Klan Incorpotated, 1924. Original wraps. Very Good. Very uncommon 1924 booklet detailing the undoubtedly precarious finances of the Klan, as submitted to the "Second Imperial Klonvokation", which was held in Atlanta. This rare look into the Klan's financial health includes a detailed reckonong of "Notes and Accounts Receivable"; "Indebtedness Certificates"; "Departmental Expenses"; "Home of Colonel W.J. Simmons"; "Real Estate"; "Propagation Department"; "Propagation Contract", etc. Solid and VG in its stapled, off-white wrappers, with light creasing --and just a bit of soiling-- to the panels. Octavo, chilling details as well of the Klan's own printing plant and factory (from which its "Bureau of Publication and Education" operated) and its own insurance company ("The Empire Mutual Life Insurance Company", out of Texas). A very sobering but nonetheless significant piece of early 20th century Americana. (Inventory #: 14323)
