The appendices contain the text of Alexander Hamilton's will and the text of a paper by Alexander Hamilton which accompanied his will. In this paper Hamilton lists explanatory remarks on his conduct, motives, and views on the upcoming Hamilton-Burr duel. Hamilton opposes having to fight a duel with Burr as a solution to their political differences and articulates that he provoked Burr to fight their duel because of Hamilton's antagonism towards Aaron Burr in the past.
