An exhibition at The Philbrook Museum of Art, Tulsa, Oklahoma. "The works in this collection portray one of the most violent, radical and fascinating periods in Western culture history. They include samples, which represent as aesthetic conception deeply rooted in the Renaissance, which was generally dominant up to the beginning of the twentieth century. Then, other works lead us through the explosion of modernity and its breaking away from tradition. ...The works in the exhibition will take the public through a fascinating journey, starting with some of the founders of modern sensitivity, such as Braque and Picasso, and also including some young Venezuelan artists, such as Antonio Lazo and Edgar Sanchez. It will include as well some of the masters of the Abstract, like Vasarely, Cruz Diez, Soto and Josef Albers. The emphatic forms of Botero and the delicacy of volume in Henry Moore's creations will also be represented, as well as the deep lyricism in Chagall's Nocturnal Carnival and the ontological desperation in Francis Bacon's Person at a Wash Basin.
