December 16, 1932 · Hollywood
by ENGELS, WERA
Hollywood: 2 pages, quarto, written on the stationery of the Chateau Elysee, December 16, 1932. Superb letter written to Rutgers Nielson, the head of publicity for RKO pictures talking about her work and Hollywood. “...Dear Rutgers, how are you. Thank you ever so much for your charming letter and the photos. I think the one with Cecil B. DeMille is very good - can I get more of that one and the one on top of the Empire State Building. I would to send them abroad. Please do send some of my advertisement materials to Mr. Hirsch, my agent in Berlin, please will you - but the best pictures and articles!! So far I just love Hollywood and adore my work - everyone is so sweet and charming to me. My part is very interesting (you know I play opposite Richard Dix in The Great Jasper). There is only one thing I don’t like. They made me wear a blonde wig. What do you think of that ?! I hope so much I will be a success - even with that blonde wig!...” Fine condition with the original hand-addressed envelope. Fine condition. (Inventory #: 15433J)
