1975 · Los Angeles
Director Martha Coolidge's debut feature film, after having worked as a documentary filmmaker since the early 1970s. The film follows Coolidge's retelling of the aftermath following her high school date rape, and analyzes the motives and ramifications of the action. An unusual film for its use of both narrative and documentary stylistic approaches, it studies Coolidge's reactions to the reenactment of a true event.
