Includes an inset of the old town which is named Stadt Maria (German for Ville Marie). Published during the French Indian War. Full margins as issued. Light foxing. Faint library stamp on the bottom right corner.Gabriel Nikolaus Raspe was a renowned publisher and bookseller in Nuremberg. He published many war maps in the 18th century, including "Schauplatz der geegenswaertigen Kriegs," "Isles Philippines," and "Plan der Bataille bey Freyberg... und der Combinirten Kayserl und Reichs Armee." He also created "Geschichte der Kriege in und ausser Europa" with Christoph Heinrich Korn. Jacques Nicolas Bellin (1703-1772) was the official hydrographer to the French king and the first person to hold the title of "Ingénieur de la Marine of the Depot des cartes et plans de la Marine" (chief engineer of the French Hydrographical Office).
