Minor ex-library stamps and stickers on two pages, else very good. A detailed report examining the usefulness and necessity, best location and cost of building a dry dock for repairing U.S. Naval vessels. Including: Foundation, position, plans, dam, draining, gates, wharves, shops and machinery, deepening the channel, type and quality of cement, etc. Charlestown, Mass. and Gosport, (Norfolk) Va., were on top of the list. Also gives a short history of the idea for constructing such a dock dating to John Adams' administration. Scarce, *OCLC* locates only 7 copies over 2 entries.
