New York: Henry Holt, 1993. First Edition. Hardcover. Near fine/Near fine. One of Israel's longest serving and most distinguished politicians, Shimon Peres (1923-2016) was the first person to have served as both Prime Minister and President of the Jewish State. At the time of his retirement in 2014, he was the world's oldest head of state, and was considered the last link to Israel's founding generation. Peres is perhaps best known for engineering the 1994 Israel-Jordan peace treaty, and for the Oslo Accords peace talks with the Palestinian leadership, for which he, Yitzhak Rabin, and Yasser Arafat received the 1994 Nobel Peace Prize. Inscribed and dated by Peres on the front flyleaf. Octavo. A near fine copy in a bright and glossy dust jacket.
