Originally published in the author's native French, The Silk Road explores the famed and ancient trading routes that connected a multitude of cultures around the world. Luce Boulnois (1931–2009) was a French historian who specialized in the history of central Asia and the Silk Road.
Many black and white plates and => 11 maps (some double-page) accompany the text.
Provenance: From the library of American collector Albert A. Howard, small booklabel ("AHA") at rear. Publisher's purple/fuchsia cloth with white lettering to spine and blind (faintly visible) decoration to front board of four camels in a line; without the dust jacket, boards very slightly warped.
