Fulton was the youngest Sterling professor of Physiology at Yale University, and was the Chair of Yale's Department of History and Medicine. During the Second World War, he directed high-altitude aviation studies for the military. Hoff was Chair of the Department of Neurological Science at the Medical College of Virginia. He was an active pilot, and the U.S. Naval Attache in London during the war. An excellent source for the history of aviation medicine in its middle stage.
