One of the Paris expatriates, American writer Elliot Paul (1891-1958) was the co-founder of Transition Magazine and knew very all the key Paris expatriates of the 1920s. Right after the fall of France to the Nazis, he wrote his most famous work, The Last Time I Saw Paris, a memoir of his experience of living amongst the French in a small Paris neighborhood for many years creating the finest work of a twenties expatriate involving himself with the daily lives of the people of Paris.
