Acclaimed California landscape artist Eyvind Earle (1916-2000) worked as a background painter for Walt Disney Studios, where he contributed to the classic animated feature films Sleeping Beauty and Lady and the Tramp. Concurrently with his work in film and, later, in television and in book and magazine illustration, he was achieving ever greater recognition for his work in fine art. From his first New York City solo show in 1938, Earle exhibited regularly at prestigious galleries and museums across the United States.
