Very good. 4to. 55,(1)pp. Orig. limp vellum with the gilt arms of the dedicatee, Dona Antonia Giron, on both covers; the same arms appear as a large woodcut on the title page. Vellum somewhat worn & soiled, some scattered marginal foxing and stains. The very rare second edition of this report of the martyrdom of missionaries in Japan. The first printing was 1618, a superlatively rare Philippine imprint. Not in the Tenri Library Catalog which does have the 1618 edition and the 1621 Italian translation from the original Spanish. See Tenri p. 102 (2-6) and second section p. 75. Our edition of 1619 is not recorded in OCLC. (Inventory #: 9394)
