Among other things, Montague was responsible for the introduction of the Turkish inoculation to smallpox into Western medicine, of which she was herself afflicted. Bound in contemporary 3/4 red morocco over marbled paper covered boards, flat spine lettered and decoratively stamped in gilt, green ribbon markers. Contemporary owner's armorial bookplate of Charles Benjamin Caldwell, New Grange, Co. Meath. A lovely set, internally clean and bright.
