Accounts of concentration camp prisoners, published on behalf of the following prisoners: Toni Bruha, Maria Berner, Herma Löwenstein, Anna Poskocil, Anna Schefzik, Hermine Huber, Irma Trkzak, Zisa Diasek, Rosa Vostarek, Marie Strnad, and Anna Hand. Deemed the Women's Prison of Europe this concentration camp was built in 1938. It is located about 50 miles north of Berlin and confined Jewish and Gypsy women but larger groups from Russia, Poland, Czechoslovakia as well as women from France and other European countries. The camp was well fortified and camouflaged in a trough near a lake so that casual passersby wouldn't notice it. The pamphlet contains harrowing accounts of former inmates describing the torture by SS henchmen and women in this camp. Very scarce. Text in German. Wraps with light wear along edges small, closed tears and chips, upper right corner with small crease and age-toned along edges of back cover. Two inch closed tear at head, one inch at tail of spine. Block age-toned with small creases at upper right corner of first three pages. Few pencil notes on first two pages. Wraps in overall good, interior in good+ condition.
