XI-XII: "And a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sunne, and the moon under her feete, & on her head a crowne of twelve starres:" With the famously grotesque woodcut initial 'A' used as inspiration by Eric Gill in his "Four Gospels", loosely laid in are three xerox copies of pages pertaining to Gill's thoughts on the "very erect satyr".___DESCRIPTION: Quarter red morocco and gray Fabriano paper covered boards, two illustrations, one original leaf; Romulus Open type, French mouldmade "Lana" paper, quarto size (10.25" by 7.25"), pagination: [i-vi] 1-37 [1 original leaf] [1 colophon], limited first edition, one of 395 copies, with original prospectus slipped in.___CONDITION: A fine copy, the covers clean and unrubbed, the binding tight with solid hinges, the interior clean and bright, and free of prior owner markings; clean, crisp, as new.
