This almanac features the first printing of Benjamin Franklin's famous self-composed epitaph: "The Body of Benjamin Franklin, Printer, Like the Covering of an old Book."; Advertised in the Massachusetts gazette and Boston weekly news-letter (R. Draper), Nov. 29, 1770, and in the Boston gazette (Edes & Gill) and Boston evening post (T. & J. Fleet), Dec. 3, as "to be sold by R. Draper, T. & J. Fleet, Edes & Gill." Two states noted. One comprises  p. and correctly names Abel Puffer as author of "A sure and certain cure for the bite of a rattle snake ... ", p. . Another comprises  p.; p. [17-26] vary and are typographically identical with p. [17-26] of the edition printed by William McAlpine (Evans 11547). Abel Puffer is mistakenly identified as Abel Fuller in this state. Drake, M.
