by ROBERTS, JAMES P. (ED.) AUGUST DERLETH
Madison, WI: White Hawk Press, 1993. First Edition. Paperbound. 74 pages, staplebound. With illustrations by Eugene Gryniewicz. Fine fresh copy in printed wrappers. From the introduction by Richard A. Fawcett: “This collection of essays, then, is intended as a guide to the best of August Derleth, the essential Derleth as it were, a kind of ‘road map’ for the reader so that he or she may be spared the frustration of digging up the entire mountain in search of its veins of gold.” August Derleth (1909 - 1971) was an author and co-founder, with Donald Wandrei, of Arkham House Publishers which did much to bring supernatural fiction into print in hardcover in the US that had only been readily available in the UK. Derleth is best remembered as the first book publisher of the writings of H. P. Lovecraft, and for his own contributions to the Cthulhu Mythos genre of horror. (Inventory #: 21895E)
