The bulk of this work is given over to the causes of indigestion, of the workings of various foodstuffs, as well as drink, and tobacco, on the work of digestion. The author, John Henry Clarke (1853-1931) was a prominent British homeopath, fellow fo the british Homeopathic Society, Extraordinary Member of the Royal Medical Society, and a militant anti-Semite. Original burgundy cloth, blind-ruled and gilt-titled. Small abrasion to the bottom edge of the front panel, otherwise fine. With the ownership signature, "Dr. Harry Bengston, 720 Thompson Building, Seattle, Wash." to the front paste down and to the Table of Contents. (Inventory #: 6314)
