Germany:: c. 1890., 1890. 37 prints. Various sizes [listed below]. Mat-boards; occasional notation and chipping to boards, prints are untouched. Very good. A collection of late-19th century prints of various locations in Germany. Includes monuments, villages, cities, and cathedrals. Released from the archives of Occidental College. Of particular interest are the multiple prints of Heidelberg Castle and the Friedrich Building, which was first restored around the time these photographs were taken. Other buildings, including the Palace of the Crown Prince and the Cologne Cathedral were badly damaged during World War II. Most of the other buildings and structures in the photos have been renovated, rebuilt, or replaced in the intervening years. 1) 2 photos. Baden. Although, it was decided to rebuild the entire exterior of the palace in the original style.
