London: Duckworth & Co, 1910. Decorative Cloth. Very Good +. Harry Rountree. A handsome copy of the 1910 true 1st edition (wit the illustrator's name misspelled "Rowntree" on the front cover). Tight and VG+ in its dark-green cloth, with bright gilt-titling and decorative flourishes along the front panel and spine. One very small, subtle stain at the front panel's lower-edge, very mild leaning to the binding, very light foxing at the preliminaries. Thick octavo, top-edge gilt, deckled fore and bottom-edges. A major study in the field, authored by the inestimable Bernard Darwin. Lovely reproductions --all with their printed tissue-guards-- of watercolors by Harry Rountree. (Inventory #: 15286)
