Two page handwritten document, signed by King George the II (1683- 1760) and three Commissioners of the Treasury: Thomas Pelham-Holles, 1st Duke of Newcastle (First Lord) (1693-1768); Hon. Henry Bilson Legge (Chancellor of the Exchequer) (1708-1764); James Oswald (1715-1769). Enabled by an Act passed in the last Session of Parliament, this document grants fifteen thousand pounds to Chamberlain of the City of London (Sir Thomas Harrison 1701-1765) to be applied towards the improving, widening and enlarging the passage over and through London Bridge. Signed at Our Court at Kensington, August 4th 1760. The letter is intact, but the bifolium is detached. This separated section is blank on one side, with docketing on one section. The document is folded, with minor browning, minor soiling, and a few tiny spots of staining. .
