first edition Paperback
1972 · Boston
by Williams, C. K.
Boston: Houghton Mifflin, 1972. First edition. Paperback. Very Good. Simple bound olive wrappers printed in black. This is the uncorrected bound galley of the poet's second major collection. Williams would go on to win most of the major literary awards for his poetry. This, a very good copy. Notable in that it has a few inked hand-corrections o the text (presumably by the author). Laid in to this copy is a brief typed note from Carolyn Amussen, publicity director for Houghton Mifflen, dated September 16, 1971 and addressed to fellow poet James Tate. The letter presents the galleys and asks for his views of the book. (Inventory #: 26025)
