unbound. very good(+). Interesting group of three A.L.S.'s (undated) all written within a very short time frame, soliciting singing lessons from a Mr. Klein. One letter is signed "Fay Compton de Frece" her married name between 1914 and 1921, before the death of her husband Lauri. (1) Monday: 8vo. 2 pages, Taplow, England, in part: "...May I come and have a lesson some time next Thursday? From 2:00 till 6:00, if you will let me know..." (2) Thursday: 8vo. 2 pages, Taplow, England, in part: "...I'm so sorry about this afternoon - but I had a wire from my husband, who is away on holiday, asking me to see to some important business for him - which I had to do. I am awfully sorry - I will come on Thursday next..." (3) October 31st, 8vo. 3 pages, 132 Sloane, London, in part: "...I'm anxious to have some more singing lessons. Now that I am living in London it will be so much easier. Could you possibly make me a regular time? Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:30 would be wonderful for me..." All items are boldly signed and are in excellent condition. English actress and singer whose career spanned close to sixty years. (Inventory #: 284714)
