Very scarce letter of condolence, 4to. 1 page, Secretary of the Navy, Washington, December 15, 1950, informing the wife of Henry Irving Cochran, Yeoman First Class, United States Navy, that her husband was killed in Korea, in part: "...I know what little solace of that knowledge I cannot refrain from writing to express to you my genuine sympathy in your bereavement..." *Most families are reluctant to part with such sentimental letters.
