first edition
1968 · New York
by SJOMAN, VILGOT
New York: Grove Press, 1968. First Edition. Illustrated diary of the making of the 1967 sexually explicit Swedish language anti-war film, I Am Curious - Yellow. Near fine copy with some minor handling in a very good dust jacket with some small tears. Vilgot Sjoman (1924 - 2006) worked with Ingmar Bergman on his 1962 film Winter Light and published his diary of that time of apprenticeship. His other films include The Dress, The Mistress, and My Sister, My Love. He writes: “I was born and brought up in a city, the working-class district of Stockholm. My film dream was sticky with matinee candy, newsreels, cowboy rides in a back yard - but not until I was twenty-seven did I dare to make the dream come true.” (Inventory #: 22089E)
