Very scarce! Non-musical recording. 4 mono audio disks. 9 3/4 inch diameter. 33 1/3 R.P.M. LP recording. Sleeved and housed in the original publisher's pictorial album. Portrait of the author on album cover, printed biography of the author pasted to inner cover, as issued. Album cover rubbed, chip to head of album spine (repaired), corners showing light wear. Overall, a fine set. Discs appear fine although we have not played them. Divided into four disks, this recorded history contains The First Pioneers: The Indians of Oklahoma (The Five Civilized Tribes and Western Indians); The Second Pioneers: The Ranchmen of Oklahoma (The Coming of the Cowmen and Ranchman and Cowboy); The White Settlement of Oklahoma (The Boomers and Sooners and Settlers); and The Twin Territories (Life in Oklahoma Territory and Life in Indian Territory). As long-time collector and expert on the University of Oklahoma's publications, Richard F Olson states in his article University of Oklahoma Press, "In 1997, I happened to come across a record album (set of four) produced and recorded by The University of Oklahoma Extension Division in 1951 called 'History of Oklahoma.' In these records Dale narrates the history of Oklahoma in eight parts... To me, this set shows the versatility of the professor and his love for history" (Olson). [2 copies located via O.C.L.C.].
