1882 · New York
by [Donnelly, Naomi (anonymously)]
New York: M.J. Ivers & Co., 86 Nassau st, 1882. Octavo-sized stapled booklet (21 x 15.5 cm.), 48 pages. Single advertisement to rear panel of wrappers. Printed in double columns throughout. A small household manual, originally issued under the title Lakeside Cook Book, no. 1, by Donnelly, Gassette & Loyd in Chicago in 1878. The author, Naomi Donnelly, is credited on those earliest printings, but here the book indicates the copyright is held by a James Sullivan. Some chipping to edges and spine of illustrated wrappers printed in black and red; small tape repair to foot of spine. Staples a bit rusty. Otherwise very good. Early ownership in pencil to front wrapper panel, "Sallie P. Dachen", several times. [OCLC locates two copies of this 1882 printing, and only ten copies of all editions and printings; Brown 2447].
