Each volume with title and descriptive index leaf and 40 hand-colored plates on stiff paper stock. 2 plates lacking from the 1926 volume. Total: 78 hand-colored plates. Beige wrappers printed in raised gold. Paper labels affixed to covers ("Chic Modes Co. New York"). Spines show chipping, corners a bit curled. Internally, the plates are in wonderful condition. Printed in Vienna, these wonderful series of Paris fashion plates are beautifully hand-colored with the Pochoir process. Pochoir, characterized by crisp lines and brilliant colors, is a refined stencil-based technique of hand-coloring. Créations de Paris was a quarterly. Here, we offer No. 4 in the series for the year 1926 and No. 1 for the year 1927. Volumes of Créations de Paris are extremely obscure and are rarely offered. Each plate shows a full-page frontal view of women dressed in various, very fashionable, attire with a smaller black & white sketch of a rear view.
