Scribner's Magazine - Illustrated. Vol. lxv, No. 3, March 1919 [featuring] "What the Russian Situation Means to America" [by] W.C. Huntington
New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1919. 32, frontispiece, 257-390, 33-98p., nine pages of cig, soap, suit and car ads in vivid colors. Verso of cover is a ridiculously gaudy ad for "Murad, the Turkish cigarette." Two car ads in color: a terrific Marmon 34 and, for Tesla-sensitives, on p.46 of ad section, the Rauch & Lang Electric. Also find a good b&w Apperson 8 and a Dodge. The feature article is relatively short, only 5p., and concludes that "The restoration of Russia will be the work of years, and we must be training the thousands of Americans who will be needed.. The men in the economic and military units sent to Russia could, under a proper course of training, learn much of the language and life of the country, and be ultimately highly useful and indispensable in America's 'Russian service'
