Newspaper
1970 · Santa Monica, CA
Santa Monica, CA: Contempt, 1970. Newspaper. Set of two issues, 8p. & 16p., folded tabloids, illus., lightly toned, very good condition. Only 1 found in OCLC as of Oct. 2018. Los Angeles area underground paper, somewhat late in the UG press era. News gravitates toward UCLA, including police bust of "The Day After" demonstrators in Westwood protesting the guilty verdict of the Chicago 8 / The Conspiracy trial. A potpourri of well-meaning leftist posturing, including rants against the LAPD and cheerleading for the imminent Revolution. Yippies tossed in, as well. These appear to be the only two issues published.
