Jacob Leisler was a German-born colonist in the Province of New York. He gained wealth in New Amsterdam in the fur trade and tobacco business.It is the first brick residence built in the city. An interesting view of Dutch New York The image appeared in the 1869 edition of Shannon's Manual of the Corporation of the City of New York, an annual compendium of records about city history, city council information, and public works through text, maps, lithographs, and engravings.
