Mansfield, Ohio: Westinghouse Electric Corporation, 1945. Wraps. Good. 36 pages. Blue printed wrappers, stapled. 8 1/2 x 11 inches, three hole punched (as issued?). Worn and lightly soiled. Included is an undated Stain Removal Chart provided by Monsanto Chemical Company under the ALL laundry detergent brand (very soiled/stained/pencil scribbled). Wraps. A guidebook intended for the lady of the house that reviews washing, drying, ironing, laundry planning and buying of washables. Considering the information available on today's bottle of laundry detergent, this guide is remarkably informative. It shows various fiber types, classifies them, identifies their sources, and even shows a magnified illustration. It tells how to sort. Various types of (then navailable) electric irons (including some most readers of this listing haven't seen even in antique shops). It even has a layout for a combination kitchen laundry that will be most efficient.
A useful source for anyone interested in the state of the art in 1945, and what were the hot topics manufacturers felt necessary to address at the time. Only one copy in Worldcat at George Mason Univ. as of this writing. (Inventory #: 27202)
