by Robert Pirosh (director, screenwriter); Karl Tunberg (screenwriter); Robert Taylor, Eleanor Parker (starring)
Beverly Hills, CA: Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer [MGM], 1953. Temporary Complete script for the 1954 film. File copy, with rubber stamp on the front wrapper. Loosely based on a chapter from the 1949 book "Gods, Graves, and Scholars" by C.W. Ceram.
Robert Taylor plays a rough and tumble archaeologist who is convinced by another archaeologist's daughter (Eleanor Parker) to go searching for evidence of the life of the Biblical Joseph. A difficult production plagued the film, including harsh, purportedly underfunded filming conditions. One of only five directorial efforts from Robert Pirosh.
Set in Egypt, shot on location in Egypt and Libya.
