Includes an essay about how the photographs were made using a new patent-protected process involving the use of negatives, resulting in the finest "bromide prints of absolute uniformity." The cover features a photograph of Charles A. Dana; eight other notable figures are profiled. This issue also features a photograph of a young girl ("Innocence") taken by prominent New York photographer B.J. Falk. Oblong quarto. Original stiff paper wrappers, with a photograph tipped in on the front. Minor stain to the top edge of the front panel; otherwise very good. (Inventory #: 68851)
