Leslau: NP, 1941. Original document. Loose leaves. vg. Collection of four documents pertaining to the arrest and execution of four Polish citizens accused of carrying weapons in Nazi-occupied Poland. The four victims are: Jan Koslowski, 53 years old, arrested on 5/21/1941; Marcianna Koslowski, 47 years old, arrested on 5/21/1941; Felixa Gurski, 37 years old, arrested on 5/22/1941; and Josef Gurski, 44 years old, arrested on 7/1/1941.
The first document is a 11 3/4 x 7 3/4" typed indictment form stamped and handsigned by the Leslau Justizobersekretär (signature couldn't be deciphered), and dated "Leslau, den 16. August 1941." The document states the names of the four accused, the date of their arrest, and the date of their execution (August 15, 1941, at 4.30 pm).
The document is followed by three 5 1/2 x 7 3/4" payment overview receipts, dated Posen, 11/23/1942 (15 months after the execution), and showing the amount paid by each of the accused for their own execution. Each document is stamped and signed in pencil by "Weber," the treasurer.
The indictment is slightly chipped and foxed along upper corners (not affecting lettering). Otherwise, all four documents are in very good condition. Text in German. (Inventory #: 44989)
