SCARCE. 14 monthly issues with great illustrated covers bound in quarto, green cloth, gilt lettering at spine, marbled end pages, Very Good, cloth rubbed, hinges cracked yet binding holding well, some small creases and small tears to pages. Published monthly by the Great Lakes Athletic Association, devoted to the interests of the United States Naval Training Station at Great Lakes, Illinois, the Navys largest training installation and the home of the Navys only Boot Camp. Great WWI era magazines, numerous black and white photographs, lots of articles and photos about athletic teams, and wonderful color rear cover ads for Wrigley's gum. The Great Lakes Navy Bluejackets football team compiled a record of 7-0-2 and won the 1919 Rose Bowl, featuring three players (George Halas, Jimmy Conzelman, and Paddy Driscoll) who were later inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
