New York: The Viking Press, 1959. Cloth. Near Fine/Near Fine. A very impressive copy of the 1959 1st edition -- and a significant Association copy as well: INSCRIBED BY WILLIAM KLEIN TO RENOWNED CURATOR ANDREW ROTH on the half-title. A gorgeous copy to boot (the nicest this bookseller has seen). Tight and Near Fine to Fine in a crisp, easily Near Fine dustjacket, with one minor crease running along the front flap-fold. In fact, this copy is so sharp and well-preserved it was chosen by ICP (International Center of Photography) to represent this title in the seminal exhibition "The Open Book: A History of the Photographic Book from 1878 to the Present" at ICP, New York, June 17th-September 4th, 2005 and includes the supporting paperwork as documentation. Quarto, Klein's 2nd "city book", on the heels of the triumph of his 1956 "New York: Life Is Good and Good for You in New York" (Inventory #: 16794)
